Bronze Sponsors

The Linde Group is a world leading gases and engineering company with almost 52,000 employees working in around 100 countries worldwide. It is one of the world's largest refrigerant distributors.  Linde's refrigerants business operates in 5 continents, with more filling stations and retail outlets than any other company.  Its wide portfolio of products includes the natural refrigerants CO2, Ammonia & Hydrocarbons.

Obrist Engineering focuses on the development of environmentally friendly systems and components for air conditioning and heating, with a stronghold in the automotive market. The main activities over the last 10 years have been dedicated to the development of R744 compressors, but also other components for use in CO2 MAC systems, commercial and transport refrigeration, as well as heat pumps.

Bock Kältemaschinen manufactures compressors and condensing units for stationary and mobile refrigeration and air conditioning. It exclusively offers products for commercial and industrial applications. Its headquarters are situated in Germany, with several other locations throughout Europe and Asia. Bock's product range spans solutions for all three natural refrigerants: CO2 (R744), ammonia, and hydrocarbons.

Dorin entered the field of refrigeration in 1932 with its first open-drive compressor range. The first CO2 trans-critical type was commissioned in 1999. Today, Dorin produces more than 70,000 compressors per year, and offers the widest CO2 compressors range available in the market.

The International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) is an independent intergovernmental organization to promote knowledge of refrigeration and associated technologies that are necessary for life in a science-based, cost-effective and environmentally sustainable manner. The IIR, co-sponsor of Atmosphere 2009, is organizing international conferences presenting latest technical advances in the field of natural refrigerants.

KHLim has established a unit, called KHLim Quadri, which serves as a learning network for the industry and organisations. Within the department Industrial Sciences and Technology a "techniques of refrigeration" unit was established to organise seminars and trainings, and disseminate the results of projects. KHLim is the project leader for the NARECO2 project.

The Danish Technological is one of the world’s largest self-owned and non-profit institutes supplying technological services, and disseminating research- and technologically-based knowledge for the Danish and international business sector. Its Centre for Refrigeration and Heat Pump Technology is a key player in developing CO2 projects.

The SINTEF Group is the largest independent research organisation in Scandinavia. Its Energy Research department is building on expertise in refrigeration and heat pump technology using CO2 as a refrigerant within mobile air conditioning, industrial and commercial refrigeration, hot water heat pumps, and transport refrigeration since 1989.

Founded in 1222, the University of Padova comprises 13 faculties with 63,000 students. Research activities of its Engineering Faculty are devoted to thermodynamics, heat transfer, refrigeration technology, development of prototypes for commercial refrigeration operating with CO2 direct expansion, heat pumps and air conditioning.

KTH's division of Applied Thermodynamics and Refrigeration has been specialising in research and education for refrigeration and heat pump technology for more than 50 years. KTH's project in the field of CO2 Technology include: simulation tools for modelling CO2 systems and a laboratory test rig of a supermarket installation with R744 as a refrigerant.

The BFS, established in 1965, has the task to provide the refrigeration and cooling industry with qualified personnel. For this purpose, it educates and trains 2200 people per year on issues of environmental protection and energy efficiency; applied research, development and testing; monitoring of standards as well as legal requirements.
