International Conference on Natural Refrigerants | October 19-20, 2009, Brussels, Belgium

Atmosphere Prelude

Before the official conference opening on Monday, an “Atmosphere 2009 Prelude” invites you to raise your voice in favour of natural refrigerants and then let the evening fade away to the sound of live jazz music.

"Recommendations for Copenhagen” -
Group discussion to finalise joint statement (Sunday, 18 October, 4-6 pm)

Policy makers, environmental groups, industry experts, and the media will be meeting on Sunday to witness the presentation of the “Recommendations for Copenhagen”. This joint position paper, supported by the industry and environmental groups, is currently being drafted to raise awareness of the huge potential natural refrigerants hold worldwide as a replacement for fluorinated gases. With only two months left to the Post-Kyoto negotiations in Copenhagen, Atmosphere 2009 is issuing a strong call for action in favour of HFC-free heating and cooling solutions.

Join us and raise your voice in an informal discussion about the prospects of CO2, ammonia, and hydrocarbons. Make sure that after the Kyoto Protocol has put more than 180 countries on the road towards less greenhouse gas emissions, the Copenhagen agreement takes the next decisive steps to phase out chemical refrigerants with known and still unknown consequences on our planet, its atmosphere, the ecological system, and human health.

The event is limited to 50 persons. Entrance is free. Please register early to make sure you can have your say and shape climate change opportunities of tomorrow already today.

"In the Heart of Brussels” -
Informal Reception with Jazz Band (Sunday, 18 October, 6-8 pm)

Let the evening fade away in one of the finest settings to be on a late October evening. Right in the middle of Brussel's heart-shaped city core, the "Amigo Bar" offers enough room to meet colleagues and make new contacts in a relaxing, lively and informal atmosphere.

The reception is limited to 60 persons. Please register early for this informal networking event.

The price of €40,00 (+21% VAT) for the cocktail reception includes canapés and the sounds of Billie Holiday and friends.
« Natural refrigerants will finally put an end to the long and disastrous story of fluorinated substances. »
